Hi everyone! Thank you for devoting your time to answer our questions. My name is Chris Chan from Schulich (York University) and I am interested in opportunities within PwC's Tax group. Good afternoon everyone! I’m just polishing up my cover letters but have heard conflicting ideas about how long the letter should be. Some people say keep it brief at half a page, some say to be detailed fill the whole page. What is the average time that someone will spend reading your cover letter versus your resume?
Hello everyone, I want to start by thanking you for hosting this session today. My question for the PwC Recruitment Champion Partners is: Are Candidates who have graduated in 2011 and have completed the CPA required courses eligible to apply for PwC’s CPA Training Program? If so, are they given the same consideration as a candidate who is currently in their 4th year of studies?
Thanks for taking the time to hold this chat! My name is Linyi, new graduate from Brock University Bachelor of Accounting. My first question would be: What are the most attractive soft skills you would like to see in a candidate in ASSURANCE?
Hi Chris. In Tax, the learning never ends for any of us no matter how long we've been practicing. Teach-don't-tell helps us to accelerate growth by helping people learn how to analyze issues and solve problems. There is nothing like that kind of experience, with guidance from a mentor, to help learn and grow.
Hello! I am Shivin Bakshi, a recent graduate in Computer Engineering from University of British Columbia looking to grow in the technology consulting space. I was wondering if there are any disadvantages to being a UBC student and applying for a job position in Toronto. I was hoping to learn more about PwC through an information session but unfortunately there isn't one in the near future in my area. Does the Toronto practice accept applications from other provinces?

Thank you Partners for taking the time to attend today's live chat. Having spoken with PwC reps during networking sessions I have been able to experience the culture of the firm. Some reps have even mentioned that the person they are today is the conglomeration of everything the firm's people have taught them through the teach don't tell policy. I would like to know what you, as partners, do or have done to further this policy and how this policy has shaped who you are within the firm?
Hey everyone, Joseph Bianchi, current York University student here. I appreciate everyone taking the time out of their schedules. My question is when showcasing skills on a cover letter, would it be recommended focusing in detail on one skill , or broadly go over multiple skills in less detail. What hits harder?
Hi, My name is Maher. I just wanted to know if PWC hires new graduates from specializations other than accounting. Because I am majoring in finance and wanted to know if there would be any opportunities for me in Ontario
Hello Everyone, I have a quick question for Ryan Couvrette. I am curious how you look at a candidate that is already graduated applying towards a First Year Junior position vs. a 4th year student applying to the same position. Thank you very much

Also, is there a specific format that PwC prefers (some other firms prefer one format over another)?

Hey everyone, my name is Edward, currently 3rd year student at Schulich School of Business, York University. My question is that what is the most important thing that an audit intern should have? Thanks in advance!
I am very curious, now that the CPA process for testing is in the preliminary stages, how is PWC going to put a twist on their own process to better their juniors to succeed. I know that the unique coaching program will be very helpful during this new process!
What would you say is the most important factor in the application process. GPA, work experience, volunteer experience. I am also curious to find out what the competitive range GPA would be for an ideal candidate. Thank you for the responses!
Hello everyone! My understanding of the hiring process is that each applicant can only apply for one role each year. If this is true, will this affect the ability of future transition to different divisions?
