Hey Hibbah! Great to see you here! The difference between obtaining your CA designation through the Tax vs. Audit practice is in the depth vs. breadth competencies (you can find this on ICAO's website). Given that the tax practice is a rotational program, you will get to experience areas in corporate tax, business compliance and even US tax.

Hello PwC staff! I just wanted to thank you for hosting this wonderful session. I was wondering , based on your experiences what advice do you have for someone who wants to succeed in the audit profession? Also, what motivates you to continue your career in this practice? Thanks in advance!

Hi PwC! The AAG (full-time) application deadline for University of Waterloo was the 14th. I was wondering when successful candidates can expect to hear back by, and how they will be notified. Thank you!

Hi PwC Recruiting Team. I was wondering if you had made your decision regarding interviews for the UTSC Full Time Applications?
by Michael9/19/2012 8:45:26 PM
Thanks to all the PwC representatives for answering my questions. you guys are great help during such a stressful time.
by Nazir Shaikh9/19/2012 8:45:53 PM
@Michael Hi, we make decisions by the end of this week. Good luck!
by james.x.davidson9/19/2012 8:45:55 PM
Sorry Homaira! The best advice that I would give someone in second year would be to build a relationship with PwC as soon as possible (which you seem to be doing) and continue to interact with recruiters you meet throughout the year. In terms of interview advice, it may be cliché but the most important thing is to just be confident and be yourself! Make sure you research PwC (our website is a great resource!) before the interview as well as some specifics about the office you are interviewing with.
by chadd.j.vandermade9/19/2012 8:45:59 PM
Good luck Nazir!
by Fahad Meer9/19/2012 8:46:04 PM
Fahad, you and the rest of the PwC team spend so much time now on blogs, online chats and office hours, twitter, facebook - all for our benefit! But why do it? What drives you to do this - very time consuming I'm sure.
by Talha R.9/19/2012 8:46:12 PM
Hi katie_chu! Hope you are doing well! You should hear back by end of this week if you are succesful in getting a interview. You will be notified via email! Best of luck katie! :)

Hi PwC Team! When responding to an interview question would it be helpful to include experiences and skills gained through personal life experiences (like traveling), or would this be considered off-topic, or not significant for an interview?
by Turk Lafci9/19/2012 8:46:49 PM
by Zain Fayyaz9/19/2012 8:47:11 PM
Hey Fahad, When will your interview blog be up?
by Owais Tabish9/19/2012 8:48:00 PM
Hello Elizabeth! Great to see some of your answers so far! As far as volunteering goes, I am involved with a youth community center that I am very passionate about. Is it possible that, during a potential tenure with PwC, that I'd still be able to contribute to that community centre as part of my volunteer work?
by Abdu Gassim9/19/2012 8:48:08 PM
@Turk Lafci Hi Turk, use the STAR technique, tell us the situation of the example, then the TASK, then your ACTIONS, then the RESULT (STAR). this will ensure you provide a full answer. Assess the question, try to select apprioriate scenarios from school, work, sports, clubs etc.
by james.x.davidson9/19/2012 8:48:10 PM
@Owais Tabish Soon! stay tuned :)
by gail.balfour9/19/2012 8:48:13 PM
Hey Talha! Simple. To get to where I am in my career, so many people helped me out. How does PwC help recruits maximize potential given the large number of new hires each year?
by Scott Beaton9/19/2012 8:49:01 PM
Hi Elizabeth, it’s nice to virtually meet you. Do you think PwC will have an Environmental/Sustainability Audit within the AAG division in the near future?
by Adey El-Rayes9/19/2012 8:49:19 PM
Hey Owais, it will be up soon :) Give it a day or so and keep following my Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn page for updates!
by Fahad Meer9/19/2012 8:49:21 PM
Hi Abdu - of course! PwC supports individuals volunteering in the community. You can leave work early to volunteer if it's something you are very passionate about. The firms supports giving back to the community and encourages volunteering.
by elizabeth.m.bendia9/19/2012 8:49:43 PM
Thanks Naveed for your kind words and encouragement for your peers! Best of luck this year!
by Fahad Meer9/19/2012 8:49:47 PM

Hi Adey - quite possibly!!

Does PwC have office tours? I went to one of the firms office tours and it really helps a great deal in getting a sense of the culture at a firm.
by Owais Tabish9/19/2012 8:50:37 PM
@chadd.j.vandermade Thank you for the advice Chad! I hope to see you at the PwC office tour on Monday! Would you be able to tell me if you usually hire anyone in second year as a summer intern?
by Homaira Ishmum9/19/2012 8:51:19 PM
Thank you guys for your time and answers! :)
by Raisa9/19/2012 8:51:35 PM
@Scott Beaton Because of the large number of hires each year (over 700 this year!) it means were set up to do this and ensure people's success. Whether that's through our approach to learning (teach, don't tell) our enhanced working practices like shadowing and rounds discussions and the training we provide to pass exams, we have the resources. But we ensure people don't get 'lost' by providing them a coach and ensuring events with their year group to build relationships etc. I hope this helps.
by james.x.davidson9/19/2012 8:51:41 PM
Hi Debbie, that is a great question. To succeed in an audit career, you need to be able to adapt to a very of different situations as each audit is different. You have to be a good problem solver and definitely someone who is up for a challenge! I am motivated to continue my career in audit because I wake up every day knowing that I will be challenged and get to work with a group of great people!
by chadd.j.vandermade9/19/2012 8:51:51 PM
@Fahad. Amazing. You're right. I had a lot of older people help me out during uni as well, and the only way I can only pay them back is by helping other, younger students. Thank you, Fahad!
by Talha R.9/19/2012 8:51:56 PM
Hi Owais - Yes we do have office visits in the next month if you are successful through the interview process!
by elizabeth.m.bendia9/19/2012 8:52:00 PM
Thanks Elizabeth, I wanted to commend you and your recruiting team on an awesome job this season with the skills sessions, campus visits, and the Brilliant Futures site which by the way is the best out there when it comes to providing great advice and information.
by Adey El-Rayes9/19/2012 8:52:04 PM
No problem Talha! Thanks for asking that question by the way. :)
by Fahad Meer9/19/2012 8:52:28 PM
Hello Everyone, I wanted to know how much of a help it was to have a coach to allow you to learn more about your roles and responsibilities at PwC and develop and grow as a professional. Also how do you feel this better prepared you to obtain your CA designation?
by Varun Jacob9/19/2012 8:52:44 PM
Adey! Thank you for the nice message!! Wishing you all the best this semester with your courses!
by elizabeth.m.bendia9/19/2012 8:52:48 PM
